Yachak Foundation team visited NECBDC,Assam. We had a very fruitful meeting with the managing director and the training manager. A lot of things have been discussed with them in terms of bamboo plantation,processing, training , cluster development,products and machinery.We learnt that there are also a lot of innovative things going on in the sector and if implemented here, may bring a good change in social, economical and ecological atmosphere of Bihar.
We are in the process of impanelment with NECBDC Burnihat Assam, CIBART, INBAR Bamboo and Rattan and many more organisations working on Bamboonomics, (an ambitious scheme of National Bamboo Mission,NBM) as they impanel with other NGOs to provide their services of consultancy, capacity building, Training, clusters development Plantation, machinery set up, Technology sharing etc..
One of the most promising areas for bamboo is in construction and infrastructure. Bamboo's strength-to-weight ratio rivals that of steel, making it an ideal material for building sturdy structures at a fraction of the cost and environmental impact. In regions prone to natural disasters, bamboo can provide resilient and cost-effective housing solutions, offering both safety and sustainability.
